In-Flight Refuelling Probes (IFRP)

Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group has over 30 years’ experience of providing In-Flight Refuelling (IFR) receiver probes for large military tanker and transport aircraft.

Our IFR probes have been installed in the L1011 Tristar, Embraer 145 and Lockheed C-130 Hercules. In fact, all non US-operated C-130J aircraft have provision to support a Marshall IFRP.

From design and manufacture to installation, testing and certification, you can rely on us to deliver the complete solution.

Unmatched in refuelling probe installation and refuelling system modification

Our ‘end to end’ capability means we’re able – if required – to consider the complete system installation. We look at the bigger picture: aircraft speeds, subsequent re-fuelling angles and flow levels – everything is considered.

A typical externally-mounted IFRP modification comprises:

  • Refuelling nozzle
  • Refuelling mast – containing refuel and purge lines
  • Mast supports and fairings
  • Fuel system components – including shut-off and non-return valves, lightning protection and lighting

If you already know what your aircraft needs, we can follow your specifications. Alternatively, we can help you define what’s required. That is the difference 30 years’ experience makes.

Flexible for varying operations

If your aircraft is likely to carry out frequent operations for which a probe isn’t required, we can design it to be removable – reducing drag and lowering the weight penalty.

Whatever your requirements, you can be sure of a technically sound solution for every eventuality.
