Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS) - typically Night Vision Goggles - are a powerful aid to aircrew, increasing the probability of mission success during night time operations.
Our NVIS team are experts in converting flight decks, internal and external lighting to make your aircraft compatible with night vision imaging systems, allowing them to operate effectively in dark, clear-air conditions.
The importance of NVIS compatibility
Successful conversion for NVIS compatibility avoids the problem of degraded vision from white light leaks or unwanted reflections. In addition, cargo bay and external lighting can be modified to reduce the probability of detection by other forces.

Our end-to-end NVIS service means we are able to install, test and certify the conversion, making the entire process faster and more streamlined.
We will survey your flight deck and identify all the items that will need to be replaced in order to introduce NVIS compatible lighting. This may include anything from filters, pillar mounted lights and annunciators through to organising – via external original equipment manufacturers - modifications to panels which have internal illumination.
Conversion may also include additional switching that enables crew to quickly initiate NVIS lighting and switch off any non-essential systems during a night operation. Our highly experienced Test Pilots can also also carry out lighting balance checks in the air during flight tests.
